Voltage imbalance mitigation in an active distribution network using decentralized current control

Abstract Voltage imbalance (VI) is caused by the difference in connected single-phase load or generation a low voltage distribution network (DN).VI increase smart grid due to current practice of increasing distributed generators such as photovoltaic (PV) systems. This paper proposes decentralized control method mitigate VI using batteries included interfaced residential PV To this way, five challenges must be overcome, i.e., equalizing all battery stress currents within DN, mitigating abnormal conditions signal loss among bus controllers, being immune from distorted feedback measurements, minimizing steady-state error at different loads, and overcoming insufficient number capacity same bus. Three fuzzy logic controllers (FLC) are proposed each overcome these tasks based on scheme. The FLC compared with centralized PI controller. tested verified simulations MATLAB/Simulink software, results validate ability scheme alleviate under both normal conditions.
